To hell with you guys ive got 9 million in PR ... you have to learn to say no and accept the consequences.  Its what the Tampa Bay Rays do.

And remind me, how many games did you win last year?

:)

And they have zero World Series trophies to show for it.

I still got 8.5 in PR left, but a few bad contracts, now any B rated coach is 10 million plus....lame.

GM Franchise

I've got 6.5 million which isn't bad compared to some other teams after looking over the spreadsheet, lol.

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Now I know how Franchise feels every game.  Speak your mind and you get singled out for it.

There is a spreadsheet where you can all view each others PR.

You know what we have in common last year ... no championship.  Just because a coach or player demands that much DOESN't mean you have to pay them.  Part of the reason I let Mutu go was at that age and experience he was going to decline so a raise while market warranted ... wasn't player warranted.

Ah, but letting Mutu go nearly got you fired as well. The thing with this game is, it's nothing like in real life. In the NBA, when a player gets older, the team will cut him or let his contract expire. Doesn't matter what he had done before that or how many banners he hung, 90% of the time it's a "What have you done for me lately?" mindset. And that's perfectly fine.

That however is not the case with FBL, which is admittedly from its creator a total exaggeration of real life. Not to mention that the game puts a LOT of emphasis on morale. Sometimes it's well worth spending a couple extra million on a player, or using a little extra PR cash when needed. Keep the team leaders happy = wins. It's worked out pretty well for me so far.

But with that said.. yeah, some of those coach contracts were nucking futs. Seriously.

Congrats on the new job, Kirk!

And hey, if you need any advice or help, feel free to ask. I'm sure the same goes for the others as well.

Thanks. I should probably have mentioned this before I took the job but, I don't actually know anything about basketball. I'm going to need all the help I can get.

I understand that the ball goes in the hoop about 100 times per game and that you get 2 or 3 points depending on where you score from. I also understand that being tall and jumping really high is quite useful.

I know jack shit about basketball proper.

The good thing about the game is, it doesnt require a whole lot of actual basketball knowledge. It's mostly 95% dealing with personalities and making the right decisions.

The most you would need to know about basketball is what each position does. Point guards are mostly passers and defenders. Shooting guards are just what they sounds like, they shoot and try to score. Small Forwards are halfway between a shooting guard and a power forward, they should be able to score and defend equally. Centers are the primary defenders and rebounders around the hoop, they're usually really tall and heavy. Power forwards are much like centers, only they are a bit more offensive-minded.
