I couldn't even find out what positions some of my players played until the season started.

You're just going to have to accept it and move on unless you want to keep antagonising your coach and hurting the team even further.

This is the same coach that walked out on Mississippi last season and apparently mows the lawn in his speedo.  He's more likely to continue berating/bullying/throwing things at Newton than to properly coach.  Also, he's already pissed off

That wasn't a straight answer at all.  Just because I could do something before doesn't necessarily mean I couldn't do it when I asked.  That's why I asked in the first place, and have been getting the run around ever since.  Not to mention in here alone I've gotten varying interpretations on whether or not I can do it now, which has only further served to make me more confused about it.

This is what I want to do.  Either tell me flat out that I can't or do as I requested.  It really shouldn't be that difficult, yet it's gotten to the point to where its become more complicated than advanced mathematics.

Seriously dude, just get on with the game.  The FBL breaks all notions of common sense.  You can't view it as if this were real life.

My coach is going to do nothing and collect money and my team is going to be terrible regardless.  It matters little what I do, so I guess I'll just lock in without doing anything other than answering the questions.

You should at least talk to the players that matter. Blowing them off because of your own shortcomings will do nothing to help you.

It's almost as if your asking to be fired. Just doesn't make sense.

That would keep with the FBL theme of things no making sense.  :)

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Now I know how Franchise feels every game.  Speak your mind and you get singled out for it.

Why start a conversation that's almost assuredly going to end badly?  It's like making an already bad situation worse, though it's starting to appear that no matter what I do it's getting worse anyway.

Are you always this negative minded?

Unlike the character I attempt to portray, I can't always pretend that it's all sunshines and rainbows and hope that things will be great when things are clearly all going completely to shit.  I tried to make the best out of an already bad situation and all it's done so far is make it worse.  Now I'm trying to make the worse situation and not make it even worse.  It's becoming the equivalent of trying to fight against being sucked into a black hole or something.

It's just getting tiring. You were the one that signed Newton, you were the one who didn't train him you are the one that let a good player go to the super league because you didn't want to deal with the headache rather than trade him to someone in the FBL that would put up with it and got something for it. You hired the coach that's going to collect the paycheck and continue to throw things at Newton.

Sorry, it's just frustrating to me that you're being down on everything you've done because it hasn't worked out.

It's just as frustrating to me, but what else was I supposed to do?  Fight Dorling over Class (which I would've lost), either keep Manic and deal with more looniness or trade him to Franchise (who needs less crazy players, not more to begin with...also he had little to give in return), sign Twat Features (who is a total twat), or train Newton at a position knowing absolutely nothing about him?  None of those things would have had a positive result either.

I'm just trying to play the hand that has been dealt the best that I can.  I'll admit that I had a better hand than before I discarded a few and took a few bad cards in return and that that's part of the game, but you can't expect me to be happy about simply having a pair of deuces when I know most of everyone else at the table has at least a slightly better hand.  I know I'm going to lose, it's just a question as to how badly and whether or not I'll lose all of my chips in the end.  I'm holding out hope that I'll be able to hold on until the next hand, but with each passing week that hope is probably going to dim more and more.

It's not easy being positive about it and I try but sometimes it's difficult and throughout most of the postseason and so far during the regular season it's been difficult.  If you'd rather I not discuss it at all, just let me know and I'll just keep my thoughts to myself.

It's probably best to drop it OOC and IC. No matter how much you try and dissect it, it's not going to change. Just try and move on from it and make the best of everything. Dragging it out just makes it worse.

Agreed. It'll only get worse at this rate.

You've been like Eeyore since you realized you were not going to be able to get the players you needed.

At first it was fine, I know this game can get frustrating at times. I have my own moments of poor ol' me. But it's time to cheer the heck up and try having a positive outlook. This is a game for goodness sakes. It's not like your about to lose your real life job. Or your significant other is going to break up with you because your FBL team did poorly.

I play this game because win or lose Ian has provided a platform for us to be entertained. I laughed at my own misfortune... but rather then dwell on it... I moved on. I learned from my mistakes and I got better.

If you're not having fun playing it... then why play?

This is why despite Franchise never doing well in this game... Ian let's him continue to play. He always has a positive attitude and outlook. If he was also this mopey, oh man... we'd all hate him. But we don't... instead we laugh at his wrongdoings and deep down hope he succeeds.

I'm not trying to be mean here Reya, but don't go full Chris Shields... this is the time you do want to go full Franchise.
