I think it's a bit more than the financial offer that played into it though.

Take Blair for example.

Talon offered him 2 years 5.5 million and 2 million PR
I offered him 2 years 7 million

Total Talon actually offered him .5 million more than I did though 2 million of it was in PR.  However, my pitch to Blair's agent was that he should join a team that could win a championship not only right now but also next season which is something Talon might not necessarily be able to do and for a guy nearing the end of his career and getting close with Hollywood I think that's what ultimately swayed Blair to take my offer.

I could be totally wrong though.  I'm just guessing.

You were a preferred destination, Reya, so I'd imagine that swung it in your favour with the contracts close in value. Can't recall whether Boise was or wasn't.

My offer for Peters was slightly less than Gates, but I think his pitch was better. Not to revert to several plan B's.
