You also have to remember you have an out each offseason.  If your guy turns out to be a dud, he can be left unprotected, and sent to the SL.

In Franchise's case, his rep is poor, and he's in no place to negotiate.  Thems the brakes.

Bingo. That's why I just went ahead and took it. Also I have the cap space for it as well so that was also a factor.

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Now I know how Franchise feels every game.  Speak your mind and you get singled out for it.

Feeding into that reputation is no way to change that reputation.  Granted I haven't taken the stand in my own team thread but while the first few times might not go his way in my opinion THAT is the way to change that opinion.

So far the only thing that I have had happen to me to reflect that is the Mutu Mukwazza contract situation.

Losing your first round pick because you're trying to make a stand isn't the way to start out in a new team, either.  There isn't a great outcome here - it's pay or lose one of the few talents he's going to have this season.

Black Death

prancy , goal right now is to make solid decisions during the season and not get fired ... it going to take him few seasons to undue a lot of the damage he done and rise his rep up

It's going to take at least two seasons, probably more.

I think you guys fail to realize the power we have to make this game evolve and change.  Remember that it's us that increase these contracts.  Remember its us that agree to these contracts.  We can swing that pendelum in the other direction.

The only reason the agents are willing to leave the table is because others are willing to pay that money.  I'm fine losing my draft pick players and picking up the pieces at the end for a more reasonable contract.

Franchise has 9 players ... nobody trade with him for becoming a scab against the revolution!

He's got the PR room to cut one of those players anyway.

Kirk

8mil and 3 mil PR for the no.29 pick. Looks like I'm picking up a couple of Flips players this season.

Good things come to those who wait.  It is always darkest before the dawn.

Except when you waited for new free agents... and then the Flips players were introduced and you had no choice but to sign them.

I'm not handing out contracts like that to rookies with the new rules in place. If the agents don't negotiate a reasonable deal, I'll let them go and pick up whoever is left at the end. I'm staggered by the contracts that have already been agreed to.

Also, it's darkest in the middle of the night when the earth is at the mid point of its rotation.

Cory

As much as I killed the scouting for Terry Moore, 9m + 3PR is ridiculous for a dude who was bottom 5 on the draft board.
