In that case, 5.5 for a rookie is completely insane. Ian was testing to see how much he can get away with. It's time to learn not to say yes to the first deal.

Lincoln Frazier and Thomas Powell lead the vets with 4.5

Powell was the overpaid PR rookie a few seasons back but his production's been solid. Lincoln deserves every bit of his thing.

Although Ian did explain it as "agents are pissed about the cap, so they gotta make up their money somehow." Hence the escalated PR's.

Some give in...some are not. It'll be interesting to see what it ends up developing.

GM Franchise

I think the 10 million salary cap has a lot to do with with. Ex. Players getting 10 with 5 million PR previously would get 13 million with 2 million PR or 12 million with 3 million PR for example. That's my thinking on this.

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Now I know how Franchise feels every game.  Speak your mind and you get singled out for it.

The PR budget is a hell of a lot smaller than the wage budget. You have to remember it's not the same pot of money. Plus, do you think they will lower their PR demands next season when they're demanding 20 mil salaries... not to mention the established players wanting their PR adjusted as well.

Mike Powers

How do agents "get their piece" of PR money? Isn't it used strictly to promote the player?

GM Franchise

Maybe the success of the PR promotions pays their salaries.

I kinda blinked a few times at that, too. I'm assuming their cut comes from the overall action (salary + PR) their client gets or some shit.

I blame Jen, should have waited until the #1 pick was able to sign somewhere at a lower cost....

Fucking hell, near every single player on my team dropped a grade. Who did I piss off? Guess this will be my last season in San Diego!

Justin

The new rookie contracts now puts an emphasis on building your current team to minimize the need to continuously draft players all the time.

Or Norman Specks isn't very good at player development.
