I don't understand leaving it this late, either. Now players and agents are probably looking forward to FA and feeling unloved by their teams.

I also don't understand why some teams are declaring interest in every free agent available. It makes you look like you have no idea what you want.

I know what I want so I added all of the players that fit what I was looking for plus the ones who had my team listed on the destinations list. *shrugs*

This too. The teams with fewer draft picks likely will have more on their interest lists than the teams with picks will have.

Declaring interest literally means nothing....it just tells you if a player would be willing to come.

NOW when the stage passes and you need to send contracts out thats where you need to be careful....but again still worked out great for me.
