OUT OF CHARACTER BOARD

I tried to take Yabla to Calgary with me.....had to trade him back. It's possible Tre or Dane might feel the same way.

Rob

LOL WOW.

And that's what I'm saying. Maybe Dane hates Baton Rouge, maybe I fail to fill a team around the player's I've bought and have to trade and plead for a team with less quality than the one I just left. Maybe, just maybe you're upset because Baton Rouge and Bismarck have basically swapped places.

If you think the trade is so good for the Jaguars and so bad for you, why don't you make the trade and just stay where you are? I haven't seen any announcements about you switching and surely your current owner will see things the same way.

GM Franchise

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Now I know how Franchise feels every game.  Speak your mind and you get singled out for it.

Rob

Because I'm going to get fired in Bismarck........ Can't you see that?

I mean it's inevitable... We have all agreed that it is going to happen. Why do I wait for it to happen?

Maybe, with this fantastic trade, you just saved your job?

Is it good to do what Rob did? Is this like a plan B?

Dear New Guy,

That's a TRAPE!

The trade is bad - we can all agree with that. The bigger thing is that usually when you look at these things people don't really put themselves into "better" situations. Patel is good and he's got a 1st round pick (which I think is the bigger obstacle to building that team in Bismarck than the return he got) but the issue is though he's got very little money to work with and is only going to be exacerbated by the fact he's going to have to pay extra for his coaches because there's no one available so he'll be poaching from other teams.

Every time someone makes a move like this it doesn't work out for them for a plethora of reasons; in this case it's the fact that his team will have no depth next year and no means of acquiring it (that's where losing out on FA really hurts) and we've proven you need that to win (see Honolulu, Puerto Rico and Seattle to name a couple big teams). Then the year after he's going to have to pay Majoe the max, give Patel a raise, Johnson a raise and really can't afford the depth.

Haters gonna hate. Just win baby!

My point is that everyone (including Rob) knows that he's fucked the Jaguars and left the next GM with utter shite, so why pretend that he's done them a favour? Powers never pretended that he'd done me a favour when he took all of my good players to Calgary.

It's definitely plan B. We'll find out if it is good to do, next season.

We're not pretending that, but let's not pretend Rob put himself into an amazing situation either.

I'd agree with that - I'm not defending the trade and I think it's stupid to do that.

That being said, you still should've ass-raped Powers when he had to trade Yabla back.

These lopsided trades happen all the time when people jump ship. I don't necessarily agree with it, but it's been going on since the first few seasons. The allegory for everyone should be when Powers quit Boise to go to Mississippi and create a superteam, and then proceeded to cause benchgate, win nothing, and get fired.

It's easy to think about how crazy a team looks on paper, but the proof's in the pudding; statistically flawed teams have won titles and amazeballs ones have tanked.
