When a player reaches the last year of their contract, they are free to discuss contracts with other teams after the all-star game. Someone will sign him during that period but he will still play for you until the end of the season. You won't get anything for him, he just moves on at the end of the season.

There is a list of players who are available for Free Agency and where they are interested in going.

You can basically ignore Fredericks for the rest of this season and just play him from your bench.

My offer of Olicha and a 2nd round pick was being kind. Olicha may not have been the stud of a player I'm currently molding him into but the offer was probably the same value as the 1st round pick (Buck Fisher) you ended up with.
