The site I go to for results has the opening six man tag featuring Kojima, tenzan and nackanishi vs white, Finley and Robinson as a dark match... is this match not available to watch or something? (More importantly, will it be counted in fwl?)

I'll let you know when I watch it. :)

Nevermind, it's there in all its glory :)

However I am curious to know what Jay White announced at the end of that opening match... like a big thank you to the fans. I have heard rumors he is going to ROH for a while as part of his training.

Dammit, I should have picked Japanese instead of Hindi >:(

Black Death

well he is following young boy tradition... next phase is over seas wrestling  trip to get seasoning and develop a character  before they bring him back. ROH is great place for him to work and get better

Black Death

interesting they have of Naito and Evil in the same Block
"Asuka, gives you two thumbs up"

Black Death

have feeling they might  have Naito win it , just to make sure they set up wrestle kingdom main event for Jan 04

it would be the smart booking in my eyes

NJPW G1 Climax Tournament Matches And Dates: Tanahashi Vs. Okada, Special Guest Entrants Revealed

All tournament matches for the New Japan Pro Wrestling's annual G1 Climax have been announced on the company's official website.

Besides of the tournament final, the biggest match of the tournament looks to be Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada, which has been saved for the last day of Block A matches on August 12. That day, New Japan will begin its three-day run of Tokyo Sumo Hall: the most prominent venue of the tour. Okada and Tanahashi apparently capped their era-defining feud earlier this year when Okada defeated Tanahashi to retain the IWGP Heavyweight Title at Wrestle Kingdom 10.
This year, Pro Wrestling NOAH's Naomichi Marufuji and Katsuhiko Nakajima are special guest entrants.

All the shows can be watched live or on-demand afterward on NJPWWorld.com. The events start very early in the morning for fans in U.S. time zones, and at a more reasonable morning hour for those in Europe.

Haha, the bullet club are wearing new day shirts, and Omega is carrying a broom and pretending it's a trombone :)

Just finished watching the Block A matches from day one.

Tenzan vs Ishii was a helluva match. Two tough brawlers just knocking seven shades of shit out of each other. The pacing of the match was excellent, non-stop brawling yet continually picking up the pace right up to the three count.

And then the main event... I had no idea who Naomichi Marufuji was before today. Tell you one thing, I sure know who he is now!

I'm wondering who is going to win this block... I wonder if they would possibly a guy from Noah win it outright... then maybe lose a title match with Okada down the line?

Marufuji is awesome. The only man to have held Jr. Heavyweight titles in New Japan, All Japan, and NOAH, one of 3 men to hold the GHC Jr Heavyweight and heavyweight titles, be a grand slam champion in NOAH, and win both the Global League Tournament and Global Tag League tournament  (The other 2 that did all of those things, was  KENTA/Hideo Itami and Takashi Sugiura), Marufuji is also the only man in NOAH to have won all 5 titles in NOAH, being a 1 time Openweight Hardcore champion (the belt is now inactive, so ain't nobody else gonna be able to claim that), he's also a 2 time Super J Cup winner, 2 time Wrestling Observer best tag team winner with KENTA, and a lot of other stuff. Basically, the guy kicks fucking ass, and I have a feeling that his match with Tanahashi, might be one of the best matches of the year.

To the people who watch regularly I just downloaded every NJPW on AXS show and plan to watch it soon. Does it do the product justice?

It's matches from a few years ago, but yeah they picked the best matches for the AXS show (usually) and they're really good.

The first season also has Mauro Ranello and Josh Barnett doing commentary and they're both awesome.

Second season with Mauro in WWE has JR on commentary and it's always good to hear JR.

The shows are good - especially the ones from last year's G1 tournament.
