We have heard the rumors on a major WWE name being released today but have not confirmed the release. Rob Feinstein of RF Video also noted on his Facebook that a top star was released today and that it's a "really big" departure.

For what it's worth, many fans have sent word that Randy Orton's WWE.com profile is currently inactive. All of today's WWE releases are now under the Alumni section but as of this writing, Orton's profile just redirects to the main roster listing.

It should be noted that WWE has not announced Orton's release and no reliable sources have reported it.

Just a few hours after several WWE talents were released, two of those talents are already booked for Global Force Wrestling / WrestlePro shows.

Hornswoggle and Zeb Colter have both been announced for the June 11 show in Keyport, New Jersey. Hornswoggle will be using the name 'Swoggle.'

This makes Hornswoggle the Global Force Gold at the end of the Rainbow.

IIRC, the guys actually talked about something like this last MFX, noting WWE hadn't done their usual "spring cleaning" just yet.

As you may have expected, Damien Sandow's WWE release shocked many within the company last Friday when it was announced along with Hornswoggle, El Torito, Cameron, Alex Riley, King Barrett, Santino Marella and Zeb Colter.

WWE reportedly intimated to Sandow that he was not released because of anything he did, according to PWInsider, but because of timing as it was time for the company to freshen things up with the roster.

The Brooklyn Brawler, Damien Sandow, King Barrett, Hornswoggle, El Torito, Alex Riley, Zeb Colter, Santino Marella and Cameron were not the only 9 talents released from WWE last week as Christian was also released from his contract.

Christian's release did not have to do with his agreement to do The Edge and Christian Show and is more of a technicality of no longer having an active performer's contract, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Christian hasn't wrestled since his last concussion in March 2014 and WWE decided to stop using him due to his history of concussions. He remained under a performer's contract until now but he is still affiliated with the company.

The Observer reports that several internal lists were going around last week and two names on the list were Ryback and Adam Rose. Rose had been serving a 60-day suspension due to his second violation of the WWE Wellness Policy until he was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and felony tampering with a witness this week in Florida. WWE then announced he was suspended indefinitely but it's possible he's released soon as he was already on the bubble. Cameron, who was not on the list, ended up being released.

Just a couple of weeks after nearly a dozen WWE releases, it looks as if the WWE's roster is thinning out even more. Cody Rhodes, who performs as Stardust, asked for his release from the company on Saturday.

Rhodes, real name Cody Runnels, took to Twitter to announce that he'd requested his release, saying the last ten years had 'been a trek.' He said that he would speak on his request at a later date.
