A tourney?

I was looking through old posts on the forums and saw that there used to be a bunch of games and polls and such on this thread. I thought maybe we could bring that back, starting with a tournament-style fight to the "well not death, because we don't kill people" between the characters that made it onto IGN's Top 100 Comic Book Heroes of All Time list.

I'll randomize the list of 100 heroes, and then we'll slowly make some polls and have a discussion to see who would win in a fight, and work our way through the tournament until there is only one man, woman, or whatever left standing.

Obviously I'd try to find a way to do it so that we don't have 50 topics to sift through, I think it's doable.



Anybody into this idea?

It's not a bad idea, but I don't really like seeded tournaments like that. Especially with something like this, where the biggest, most well-known names are going to be at the top. I used random.org to create the list. Just want to see if there's more interest before I actually start thinking of a way to do it without making a shit load of topics.

Suppose I could just do it like 5-10 match-ups at a time? Leave polls/discussion open for like 10 days, then move onto the next "division." Think that'd work?

So it'd take about 15 weeks. Is that too long? Open to tweaking. I've got the bracket created already.

I've decided I'm definitely going to do it (unless BD or the other forum leaders are opposed). I just want to get your guys' opinions on how long each round should last and if you have any other suggestions or tweaks to the plan I laid out.

I'll probably start this thing up this weekend, or Monday morning at the latest.

We're talking who would win in a fight, right? If so, I have no issue with it being seeded, as just because they're more popular doesn't mean they'll win - Batman and Captain America would get destroyed by a number of less popular characters. Seeded or not, it's a cool idea. Looking forward to it.

That's a good point. With the way the 100 person bracket works though I'm not sure how the seeding would've went anyway. I've got the bracket all randomized, there's a couple of interesting first round bouts too.

Jack I like what you're saying with shorter time frames, but 2 days might be too short. What if I do 5 days for the first round of 9 (36 fights in the first round, splits up nicely into 9s). And if that's too long or short we adjust from there?

will if you want to run one , I got no problem ,  but I think 100 is little high. That is my own opinion .   if you want to try


If guys want to start having polls tourney and such again , I will start doing  it ... it been in my to do list for while , but i got little busy as of late
