NXT's Hugo Knox checks in from the WWE Performance Center - Video Blog: Sept. 9, 2014

- Regarding former UK soccer goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson, who is working in WWE NXT as Hugo Knox, word is that considering his experience he is progressing way ahead of the rest of the talents. Knox is 29 years old and has been in developmental just 15 months. He's currently doing a Chippendale type gimmick for promos but has also started wrestling and is said to be agile for his size.

Wait. WWE has guys in developmental that are showing actual potential that aren't guys they picked up from the indies?

Colour me shocked.

- Samoa Joe was telling people at an indie wrestling show in Queens this past Friday night that he is indeed headed to WWE in April, according to Reddit user MetsFan4Ever, who has broke several WWE stories in the past year or so. This should be taken as a rumor until confirmed by other sources. It was noted that Joe is expected to start in NXT as Triple H has more interest in him than Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn.

Well Duh.  Kevin Dunn is a gap toothed, mentally challenged doofus.

Take this with a wagon of salt - 'cos it's from PWInsider.com, but apparently the first post-Mania callups (as in 1-4 weeks post Mania) will be Finn Balor and Adrian Neville.

This may be due to my man-crush on Devitt, but I will mark the fuck out when they pop on TV.

PWInsider reports that NXT star CJ Parker requested his release, which was granted last Saturday.

PWInsider noted that the release was amicable, and WWE allowed Parker to work last weekend's AXXESS events.

That's a shame but really he was going nowhere outside of being the hippie version of the Brooklyn Brawler.

Vince McMahon attended his first WWE NXT live event in San Jose this past Friday night. Vince was said to be very high on Charlotte after seeing her match with NXT Women's Champion Sasha Banks. There had been talk of bringing Charlotte to the main roster but that talk multiplied once Vince saw her work. Vince also requested that Charlotte be featured more in the new Tapout commercials.

Vince also reportedly loved the work that Banks did at the NXT live event on Friday.

Good to know the big boss had never watched Charlotte before....

Well that was because Vince really didn't care enough to watch NXT. Now it seems he's finally changed his mind and is taking a more active interest in at least as far as watching the talent in action and seeing who to call up anyway.

I think that his about face when it comes to watching NXT may have come from a need to build new stars and the last few NXT call ups floundering due to not having much of a clue about what they can do and what was getting them over and how best to tweak that to make it work on the main roster.

As noted, WWE NXT Superstar CJ Parker has left the company after being granted his release. The split was amicable as WWE allowed Parker to work WrestleMania 31 Axxess.

Parker was reportedly very frustrated as he had been with WWE for four years and realized he wasn't going to make it to the main roster.

When Parker left, he was apparently told by WWE officials that he would be welcomed back in the future. Parker was said to be well-liked in the company and was saying his goodbyes at the post-WrestleMania party on Sunday night.

Parker is looking to get a job with New Japan Pro Wrestling in hopes of making a name for himself and is focused on continuing his career.

Just finally caught up with NXT - seeing Itami hit the GTS, and the crowd reaction, was fucking phenomenal, capped only by the line "It's my move, I'm taking it back".

Itami, Balor, Neville. Get them all up onto the main roster, put them in the IC title hunt with Bryan. Money. If those four (and Ambrose/Ziggler) can't bring legitimacy to that title, then I don't know who can.

Ugh, gods no. I'm with duckman, pay them raw salary but keep them on nxt... Where the title has tons of legitimacy.

Granted my view is selfish, I make no denial,of that whatsoever... If they go to the main roster, I would have to start watching main roster shows in order to see them.

Neville's already gone up lol

Only a matter of time before the others do as well, I'd guess.

I like the idea of an Indyriffic brand, but these guys are awesome enough to deserve the main roster. Granted, the main roster is crap, but they deserve a chance for more than the network subscribers to see 'em.
