Exactly. They also need to look at what movies of theirs were duds too and which ones weren't. They need to go more Dark Knight Trilogy than Green Lantern.

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Now I know how Franchise feels every game.  Speak your mind and you get singled out for it.

Warner Bros has been trying to make a "Justice League of America" movie for many years. There's already a script by Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and the plan has been to release it in 2015. Apparently things have changed.

The studio said numerous times that it will not invest $200 million in "Justice League" if "Man of Steel" underperforms at the box office. They already have to worry about finding a new actor to play Batman and the fact that Ryan Reynolds' "Green Lantern" bombed isn't helping the situation.

Now comes word that Warner Bros has plans for different outcomes. If "Man of Steel" is a box office disaster, then the "Batman" reboot will become a priority. If "Man of Steel" is a hit, then the studio will complete the trilogy within the next seven or eight years before rebooting "Batman."

Both scenarios leave "Justice League" on hold until at least 2020, since Warner Bros is worried that a bad "Justice League" film could hurt their Batman and Superman franchises.

Why is Warner/DC making this so damn complicated. Marvel put a plan in place and stuck with it. It could failed, but it made them bazillions.

Just. Copy. Marvel.

See WB's problem was that they spent too much damn money on GL, 200 million on a single hero movie, and now they are only going to drop 200 mill on the whole group. Seems wacky to me.

Green Lantern has never been that popular, how they spent 200 M baffles me. Outside of a select few storylines, Green Lantern isn't even that great of a comic. Batman, Superman, and Flash, the big 3 that can make them profit (though Flash is a lot harder). Wonder Woman has potential, the others all have up hill routes to go

Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale in Talks for "Justice League of America"

According to Latino-Review, Christopher Nolan signed on to supervise Warner Bros' future superhero films. He directed the last three Batman movies and produced "Man of Steel," which Zack Snyder directed.

Now, both Nolan and Snyder will produce "Justice League of America," and Snyder is in talks to direct. On top of that, the studio has had discussions with Nolan about bringing Christian Bale back as Batman, who would join Henry Cavill as Superman.

The plan is to challenge Marvel's "The Avengers" franchise. And Warner Bros doesn't mind spending extra money to make that happen, since "The Avengers" earned $1.5 billion in theaters, even though none of the individual films were able to break the $1 billion mark on their own. Meanwhile, "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises" were both able to accomplish that. So if Nolan, Snyder and Bale return, "Justice League" has the potential to become the biggest superhero film of all time.

"Justice League" Won't Bring Back Christian Bale or Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Batman

When Christopher Nolan was working on "The Dark Knight" trilogy, he constantly said that no other superheroes exist in that universe, mostly because someone like Superman would be able to handle Batman's problems without much effort.

Now that "Man of Steel" is set to hit theaters on Friday, director Zack Snyder and writer David Goyer have been saying that other heroes exist in their universe, including Batman, since there's a reference to Wayne Enterprise in the movie.

But according to Goyer, Batman from Nolan's trilogy, doesn't exist in the "Man of Steel" world. "The 'Dark Knight' films do not exist in the same universe," he said. "The fact that we have Wayne Industries on the satellite, Bruce Wayne exists in this universe. Lex Luthor exists in this universe. Other meta-humans do exist in this universe, so the hope is that we'll be able to roll into some other films."

This means that Christian Bale and Joseph Gordon-Levitt won't be returning to play Batman. It's still unclear when the new Batman will be introduced.

Goyer also spoke about other heroes that are hinted at in "Man of Steel." He said: "We mentioned S.T.A.R. Labs at one point. That's kind of a connection to Cyborg."

Christian Bale Says He Will NOT Return for "Justice League" Film

"Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder recently said that Batman from "The Dark Knight" trilogy is not the same Batman who's part of the "Justice League" and "Man of Steel" universe. In other words, the plan is to replace Christian Bale as Batman.

To get a confirmation of this, Entertainment Weekly reached out the Bale, who said: "We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. That's enough. Let's not get greedy. I have no information [about 'Justice League']. I've literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a 'Justice League' movie, that's it. It's a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with."

There has been a rumor that "Man of Steel 2" will be in theaters by 2014, which will be followed by "Justice League" in 2015. "Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill seems to think that things need to go slower, possibly making a Batman, Flash and Wonder Woman films before "Justice League."
