Hondo

Tim Riggins - Friday Night Lights
Alf - Alf
I watched an episode of FNL and it bored the crap out of me.

Hank Moody - Californication
Stewie Griffin - Family Guy
VICTORY IS HIS... at least in this round.

Eric Taylor - Friday Night Lights
Scully - X-Files
See the first answer

Homer Simpson from The Simpsons
Tobias Funke from Arrested Development
Oh man, I can see the nerd fights now. Another reason these games need a seeding system. But for my money, there aren't many characters with the longevity and sustained popularity as Homer Simpson.

Jerry Seinfeld from Seinfeld
Fox Mulder - X Files
Whaaat is the deal with this matchup?

Michael Knight - Knight Rider
John Locke - Lost 42
I didn't watch Lost, mainly because I thought I'd be lost (pun unintended) if I didn't watch it from early in the season. Then people hated the ending and said it ruined the show, so I didn't watch it then either. But I HAAATTEEE that I have to vote for David Hasselhoff here, since he's the worst actor (outside of Pauly Shore) since water was invented. KITT was the real star of that show.

Mal- Firefly
Latka Gravas, "Taxi"
How can you NOT vote for Latka? One of Andy Kaufmann's best characters.

Timmy - South Park
Kevin Arnold - The Wonder Years
Kids from my generation could sympathize with Kevin, even though we were growing up in different eras. The struggles he was facing were the same ones we were going through too.

Dr. Cox - Scrubs
Noah Bennett - Heroes
Love... LOVE... Dr Cox's sense of humor.

Lex Luthor- Smallville
Alfie Moon - Eastenders
No vote for me here. I never watched Smallville since I'm not into the whole superhero thing, and I've never even heard of Eastenders. Must be a British thing...

Cliff Huxtable, "The Cosby Show"
Magnum - Magnum PI
I hate that I have to vote against Magnum here, but this is Cliff Huxtable we're talking about here. TV's most identifiable Dad. And maybe the funniest too.

Hawkeye Pierce--M.A.S.H.
Sawyer - Lost X
Again, I didn't watch Lost. But even if I did, I can't imagine voting against Hawkeye. Well, let me put an addendum on that. I liked Hawkeye up until the last couple seasons, when Alan Alda took the show over and it turned into more of a melodrama.

Veronica Mars- Veronica Mars
Ari Gold - Entourage
I never watched Veronica Mars and I think I saw maybe one episode of Entourage. I don't think that qualifies me to vote for either.

Ted Mosby - How I Met Your Mother
Jimmy Mc Nulty - The Wire
Again, I saw one or two episodes of HIMYM (heh...sounds like hymen) and I've never seen The Wire. So no vote this time either.

Jack Bristow - Alias
Ryan O'Reily--Oz
Wow, I've missed a lot of TV shows apparently.

Butters - South Park
Jack Bauer - 24
Poor Butters, getting paired against Jack f'n Bauer. This is a sympathy vote.

Brian - Family Guy
Uncle Junior - Sopranos
I think it's funny that the most normal, centered character on the whole show is a dog.

Ron Swanson, "Parks and Recreation"
Dexter Morgan - Dexter
Le Sigh. I know a lot of people haven't watched Parks and Rec, but it may be the best show on TV right now. And Ron Swanson is what makes the show truly great. And he's up against Dexter, the fanboy favorite (to steal a line from Ian). Just... just promise me that you'll watch the show sometime.

Hurley - Lost
Norm - Cheers
When Hurley walks into an airport, do all the people go, "HURLLLLEY!"? Didn't think so.

Michael Schofield - Prison Break
T-Bag--Prison Break/Breakout Kings
Prison Break is another of those shows I never watched, but I gotta vote for a guy named T-Bag. LoL.

Johnny Drama --- Entourage
Tony Soprano - Sopranos
I didn't watch nearly as much Sopranos as most of you, but I can tell from my limited viewing that Tony is a strong, memorable character.

Barney Stinsen - How I Met Your Mother
Cliff - Cheers
Everyone in life knows a Cliff. The know-it-all who doesn't know quite as much as they think. That's what makes the character so identifiable.

Jack Donaghy - 30 Rock
Randy Marsh --- South Park
I do NOT like 30 Rock. At all. Period. I'd rather eat pinto beans out of Barney Green's buttcrack than watch 30 Rock.

Spike--Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Gob Bleuth from Arrested Development
I've seen a few episodes of both, but not enough to qualify me to vote here.

Cosmo Kramer - Seinfeld
Sam Malone, "Cheers"
I like Sam Malone, especially since I was the one who nominated him. But you just CAN'T vote against Kramer here.

David Brent from The Office (UK)
Kenny Powers --- Eastbound and Down
Maybe it's just me, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the British version.

Dr. Gregory House - House
Al Bundy - Married with Children
Another incredibly tough draw. I like both characters a lot.

Jack Shepard - Lost
Joey Tribbiani from Friends-
Meh. This all stems from my lack of Lost viewership. I hate that I had to vote against Dr House and Sam Malone, but I have to vote for Joey f'n Tribbiani.

Eric Cartman from South Park
The Doctor - Doctor Who
The best part of the show (at least, when I watched it)

Michael Scott, "The Office"
Dwight Schrute --- The Office
Seriously? SERIOUSLY? You're making us choose THIS EARLY in the game??

Charlie Kelly - It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Faith LeHane - Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Never watched Buffy. I've seen a few eps of IASiP, and I've enjoyed the show. But I don't know the characters well enough to cast a vote here.

Chandler Bing - Friends
Father Ted Crilly - Father Ted
I've never seen an episode of Father Ted. Ever. But I've seen clips on Youtube of the character and it literally made me laugh out loud each time. FECK OFF, CUP! Lololololol. And besides, Chandler Bing can go suck a bag of penises.

"Just do the best you can with whatever gift God has given you, whatever intellect you have. Use it. Be good while you're doing it. Love your neighbor. Love the One that created you. Enjoy the cosmos. And rock on." - Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty

Ian "Wolfie" Trumps

Tim Riggins - Friday Night Lights
Alf â€" Alf
I am going to have to spit on the grave of my dear Alf here and go with Riggins. I thought Taylor Kitsch did an excellent job of portraying him and his character was far more interesting than the route I thought based on the film/book (Don Billingsley) was the route they would go. I found myself throughout the whole thing just wanting Riggins to MAKE IT...and that alone for the emotional investment in his character is enough for me to have him advance past Melmac’s favourite son.

Hank Moody - Californication
Stewie Griffin - Family Guy
Not even a contest...you will always be Fox Mulder to me anyway...and you don’t make Cool Whip amusing...

Eric Taylor - Friday Night Lights
Scully - X-Files
Gonna double up here on my secret guilty pleasure because as time went on with Scully...I found her irritating to say the least...Eric Taylor totally grew as a character for me as a coach and as a father in a town that he was always battling against, but at the same time dearly loved

Homer Simpson from The Simpsons
Tobias Funke from Arrested Development

Tough draw for Tobias against the eventual winner...

Jerry Seinfeld from Seinfeld
Fox Mulder - X Files

I am going to insult the world and say...I never saw the massive appeal of Seinfeld as a program. Fox Mulder was intense, interesting and a little whacko as well. I own all the XFiles on DVD and yes...I do believe!!!

Michael Knight - Knight Rider
John Locke - Lost 42
I feel like I am stepping on a lot of the OLD SCHOOL here, but Locke was an amazing character let’s be honest and the only cool thing about Michael Knight was his car...he kind of sucked as a person.

Mal- Firefly
Latka Gravas, "Taxi"

LATKA! GREAT NOMINATION!!!!

Timmy - South Park
Kevin Arnold - The Wonder Years
If you were not emotionally invested in Fred Savage’s portrayal of Kevin Arnold then you had no soul. Honestly, this was probably one the BEST programs ever produced for TV and a personal favourite of mine. The finale episode of the Wonder Years when I first saw it, I will admit...made me break out the orphan tears. When a show like that can do something like that to me, there has to be a reason and one of those big reasons if not the biggest is Kevin Arnold

Dr. Cox - Scrubs
Noah Bennett â€" Heroes
I really don’t like Scrubs...so Bennett gets a bye to the next round on this basis, but like his show...it will tank in the second series. SICK BURN!

Lex Luthor- Smallville
Alfie Moon â€" Eastenders
Ok I have seen Smallville and bald teenager mega rich wieners aside...I am giving the nod to Moon here. Why? Because soaps in the UK are generally shit and Alfie Moon’s character in East Enders has been a bit of fresh air in the show which from time to time I am forced to watch under protest!

Cliff Huxtable, "The Cosby Show"
Magnum - Magnum PI
Cosby had his moments, but...MAGNUM PI was what Michael Knight should have been...cause he was fucking cool and wore a Hawaiian shirt while being cool!!!! Theme tune rocks as well and is my ring tone

Hawkeye Pierce--M.A.S.H.
Sawyer - Lost X

Not even close and that’s harsh on Hawkeye...Sawyer was the guy I liked the most in Lost over stupid Jack Dr. Pants and Baldocke...Sawyer was the man and he sells Davidoff!

Veronica Mars- Veronica Mars
Ari Gold â€" Entourage
Ari would rip out her throat and shoot a load of win down there while making he rewrite the Phantom FUCKING MENANCE...you ball gobbling whore...

Ted Mosby - How I Met Your Mother
Jimmy Mc Nulty - The Wire

Sure to fuck off the Wire fans...but a guilty pleasure of mine, still just a round one winner here

Jack Bristow â€" Alias
Ryan O'Reily--Oz

Flipped a coin out of a lack of interest...Bristow went through...

Butters - South Park
Jack Bauer â€" 24
The Wire fans hate me and now 24 fans will hate me more...BUTTERS FOR THE WIN...”Butters Very Own Episode” is hilarious if you have a sick fucking humour like me and Professor Chaos...is WIN as well

Brian - Family Guy
Uncle Junior â€" Sopranos
This should be harder for me, but I never dug Uncle Junior...in fact like Ma Soprano I found him very annoying in my favourite TV show of all time. Bryan is just brilliant...I hope there is a Bryan vs Stewie match up though!

Ron Swanson, "Parks and Recreation"
Dexter Morgan â€" Dexter

I like Dexter and seriously need to get more into this show...but judging from Hondo I need to give Parks and Rec more of a chance!

Hurley - Lost
Norm â€" Cheers
The weird faceoff of fat loveable losers aside...you gotta love NORM!!!

Michael Schofield - Prison Break
T-Bag--Prison Break/Breakout Kings
Not as hard as some people might have thought, TBag for me was a great asset to that show. I found Michael’s sense of morality annoying...and the show lost its steam towards the end anyway, except when T-Bag was on screen

Johnny Drama --- Entourage
Tony Soprano â€" Sopranos
THE FIRST ROUND BASTARD! I hate this one, but I got to go with the central character from my favourite show. Sorry Drama another failed audition...

Barney Stinsen - How I Met Your Mother
Cliff â€" Cheers
I am going to double up on this round and put the Cheers duo through here...let us hope he doesn’t move to Florida

Jack Donaghy - 30 Rock
Randy Marsh --- South Park
Contest = No Contest...

Spike--Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Gob Bleuth from Arrested Development
Buffy was lame...END of

Cosmo Kramer - Seinfeld
Sam Malone, "Cheers"
Seinfeld just did not do it for me...kind of disappointed that THREE Cheers characters got nominated. Have we no imagination EFK?

David Brent from The Office (UK)
Kenny Powers --- Eastbound and Down

CUNT SHOWING NUMBER 2! Kenny Powers fucking rules, but I cant back against one of my all time favourite TV characters...”Wouldn’t have thought so...” LMAO

Dr. Gregory House - House
Al Bundy - Married with Children
I often sit with my hand down my pants...inspired by this man!

Jack Shepard - Lost
Joey Tribbiani from Friends-

Friends to me was actually a very good show and Joey was a big part of that, I can’t see him getting super far, but he deserves a nod here over Jack Shepard who I couldn’t care less about in reference to Lost

Eric Cartman from South Park
The Doctor - Doctor Who

Many Doctors...ONE CARTMAN!

Michael Scott, "The Office"
Dwight Schrute --- The Office

I shall explain this as best I can. Scott is an idiot and Carrell does a good job in portraying him. Dwight to me will always be second rate to Gareth Keenan where as Scott has sprung off from Brent in a new direction. With Shrute they just didn’t seem able to give him anything apart from make him so fucking weird that he’s funny...is that hard? I don’t think it’s as hard as to make MGS a likeable, cringe worthy idiot...

Charlie Kelly - It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Faith LeHane - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I hate Buffy...

Chandler Bing â€" Friends
Father Ted Crilly - Father Ted

Tough call, but I think the right one, if it had been Dougal or Jack might have been a different stroy.

I have to admit, I am annoyed some of these made the last lot when we had so many nominations and so many shows with more than one nomination. It’s a crime a real crime that Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys isn’t in this and what is also interesting is a lack of female characters in this as well. Of course I shall follow through will all the rounds and well done Gary for getting this organized, but as a massive TV show fan, it’s disappointing to see a lot of great shows get nothing in the nomination stakes and some shows get like 2 or 3 characters in this thing.

#3
Well, after all this I have realised one thing: I do not watch enough TV.

Scully - X-Files
Haven't really seen enough of either to cast a vote.

Homer Simpson from The Simpsons
Tobias Funke from Arrested Development
Please don't make me choose between these two! Tobias is one of the funniest characters I've seen but Homer has been brilliant for years rather than seasons.

Kieran King

Tim Riggins - Friday Night Lights
Alf - Alf

As Hondo said, FNL bored the crap out of me the one time I gave it a try.

Hank Moody - Californication
Stewie Griffin - Family Guy

Oh man, I nominated Hank because I've just started getting into Californication and I think it's one of the best written shows on TV today. But against Stewie? Alas, there is no competition. Though on the flip side, I nominated Stewie too.

Eric Taylor - Friday Night Lights
Scully - X-Files

See earlier.

Homer Simpson from The Simpsons
Tobias Funke from Arrested Development

Tough draw for Tobias. Homer is going a LONG way in this thing.

Jerry Seinfeld from Seinfeld
Fox Mulder - X Files

Honestly? I don't like Seinfeld. Maybe I'm just too young to have ever gotten into it. Still, I'm putting Jerry through, so I guess that says something.

Michael Knight - Knight Rider
John Locke - Lost 42

Michael Knight always played second fiddle to KITT for a reason.

Mal- Firefly
Latka Gravas, "Taxi"

Andy Kaufman, FTW.

Timmy - South Park
Kevin Arnold - The Wonder Years

Wonder Years = before my time, and never really on TV over here.

Dr. Cox - Scrubs
Noah Bennett - Heroes

How on earth is Noah nominated, but not Sylar?

Lex Luthor- Smallville
Alfie Moon - Eastenders

Eastenders? Are you kidding me? The Luthors are the reason I stuck with Smallville through the period where Clark was whining about Lana every fucking week.

Cliff Huxtable, "The Cosby Show"
Magnum - Magnum PI

Close, but it's Bill Cosby. Sure he's ridiculous, but that's why we loved him.

Hawkeye Pierce--M.A.S.H.
Sawyer - Lost X

Another close one, especially since both these shows started to wane at the end. I actually gave up on Lost during season 3, but any time I saw bits of it, Sawyer was still badass. Hawkeye got too introspective and depressing.

Veronica Mars- Veronica Mars
Ari Gold - Entourage

I HATE Entourage. I don't understand how it's as popular as it is. The show sucks. The only mildly entertaining part is Ari, so that's why I'm willing to vote for him.

Ted Mosby - How I Met Your Mother
Jimmy Mc Nulty - The Wire

I've never seen The Wire, so that's why I vote for Ted. I'd prefer Marshall if a second character from HIMYM had to be here, but whatever. I'm starting to get the picture that I have a completely different idea of a good character from most of you.

Jack Bristow - Alias
Ryan O'Reily--Oz

Eh, throwaway vote. Don't care much about either.

Butters - South Park
Jack Bauer - 24

I feel sad voting against Butters, because he and Randy are my favourite parts of South Park now, moreso than Cartman. But Jack Bauer is pretty much the epitome of badass.

Brian - Family Guy
Uncle Junior - Sopranos

Never got into Sopranos as much as I've been told I should.

Ron Swanson, "Parks and Recreation"
Dexter Morgan - Dexter

I'm in a position where I've watched a bit of both here, and Ron's good, but Dexter's just too compelling.

Hurley - Lost
Norm - Cheers

Know how old I was when Cheers got cancelled? Four. Re-runs don't really get me that into it.

Michael Schofield - Prison Break
T-Bag--Prison Break/Breakout Kings

Michael was the plot driver of the show, T-Bag was the X-Factor.

Johnny Drama --- Entourage
Tony Soprano - Sopranos

Remember when I said I hate Entourage? I hate Drama the most out of them (I had to look up to see which one he was).

Barney Stinsen - How I Met Your Mother
Cliff - Cheers

See my previous comment about Cheers, and then add to it that Barney is the reason HIMYM is as big as it is.

Jack Donaghy - 30 Rock
Randy Marsh --- South Park

Tough one for me. Voting against Alec Baldwin makes me feel dirty, but Randy has become a whole new beast.

Spike--Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Gob Bleuth from Arrested Development

Against most of these nominations, I'd vote for Spike. Not against Gob though. Tobias may have gotten unlucky, but lucks falls to Arrested Development on this one.

Cosmo Kramer - Seinfeld
Sam Malone, "Cheers"

Eh... two shows I never really cared for.

David Brent from The Office (UK)
Kenny Powers --- Eastbound and Down

Kenny Powers is better than you.

Dr. Gregory House - House
Al Bundy - Married with Children

Married with Children used to bug the crap out of me when I was younger. I can appreciated it (and especially Al) a lot more now, but not enough to vote against House.

Jack Shepard - Lost
Joey Tribbiani from Friends-

Jack annoyed me on Lost. Joey was amazing.

Eric Cartman from South Park
The Doctor - Doctor Who

Would anybody be surprised to see a Homer vs. Cartman final?

Michael Scott, "The Office"
Dwight Schrute --- The Office

Wow. Crazy match-up. I'm giving this to Michael though, because I feel Steve Carrell has managed to break away and make any comparison between the two shows unimportant. They're clearly similar, but they both can stand on their own now. Though I do prefer the British version, myself.

Charlie Kelly - It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Faith LeHane - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The amount of you admitting to not having watched It's Always Sunny disappoints me. Let it be said now, that I will not be voting for anybody who is put up against Charlie. I'm also highly disappointed nobody nominated Danny DeVito's Frank Reynolds from It's Always Sunny. Such a disgusting man... such a brilliant show. The funniest show I've ever seen, period. Enough so to even over-power my crush on Eliza Dushku.

Chandler Bing - Friends
Father Ted Crilly - Father Ted

This is pretty close, but I wouldn't have even thought of nominating Father Ted. Now I look back and remember how brilliant he was. Chandler misses out because as Friends progressed, he got less funny.

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Now I know how Franchise feels every game.  Speak your mind and you get singled out for it.
