Decent episode this week. Looks like skidmarks is going to get an ass kicking next week by Booker. There's now a clear group of front runners in Martin, Luke and Jeremiah. I expect two of those plus one of the girls to be in the top 3.

Here's a little something extra for you: http://www.twitvid.com/F8G2H

I've been very entertained by this.  Even my roommate who doesn't watch wrestling anymore is watching this... which is odd...

Actually I've seen quite a few examples of this show appealing to non-wrestling fans. I guess being a fan of reality tv supercedes not being a wrestling fan.

So now the show is done, what's everyone's take on it?

Personally I was pleasantly surprised by the show.  I fucking loathe reality TV but this I found enjoyable.  Probably because there seemed to be more focus on training than it being all about the people taking part.

I had hoped Jeremiah would win because he had the most charisma and I he seemed like something different from the normal new guys in WWE.  But as he was a MMA guy there was no way in hell WWE would let him win.

I wasn't shocked Andy won.  Simply because of his size and look and also the fact he was in FCW prior to being sent to the show.  He's a prototype WWE rookie and as he didn't fuck up too much, he was always going to make the final 2 if not win the whole thing.

What really fucked me off was the way they dealt with him on Raw.  Why they felt the need for Vince to come out and slap him, for a guy of Andy's size to take a bump after being slapped by an old man was pretty lame - although probably really good for him to do politically.  I also didn't care for Austin hitting him with the stunner.

It's like they spent 10 weeks getting the guy over and by the reaction of the crowd he is over.  The whole thing of him being hard working family man got him some great sympathy and he really appeared to love wrestling and be there for that love, not just to be a TV star.  In other words they told a great story for him.  Then they do the usual WWE thing of literally slapping him back down to make sure everyone knows he's just another green bitch who isn't ready for WWE.

Hell of a job in creating a new star there guys.  I wonder why no one new gets over in that company unless they're protected as HHH's first pet project??

Anyway, apart from killing it in the finish, I really enjoyed the show.  I thought Austin was more entertaining and interesting than any time since he retired.

Hopefully they bring it back for a 2nd season.

Peace

GM Franchise

The only one I liked was Jeremiah. Luke came across as a vain, arrogant, pompous ass while Andy was just blah. Nothing special about him at all from what I saw. Seemed like they were pushing Christina too but she annoyed me.

James, everytime you post in the OOC your perception of "yourself" is just as apparently off key 'in game' as GM Franchise as it is 'out of game' as yourself lol.

Now I know how Franchise feels every game.  Speak your mind and you get singled out for it.

Flins.

I think Martin had it in the bag. After the first few episodes, other than focusing on the duds like Skidmarks and the Beauty Queen, the seemed to focus on the rivalry between Luke & Martin. There was nothing really shown on Andy until we got to the later stages, and Martin got injured. Unless they edited it so that he flew under the radar.

I did enjoy it, but I am a sucker for reality shows; Ultimate Fighter, Survivor.

Anyone know if Jeremaih has been in given a developmental deal? Or is he heading back to MMA? Trevor Murdoch has been doing some dark matches recently for WWE >_>

Personally, I think they picked the wrong guy. For Luke’s arrogance he has the look which could make a star in the future. Andy what bothered me about him was that when he looked under threat he became this complete asshole to the other competitors ragging on them and it was so unnatural for him to do so. Like if he was raging like that at me I’d probably piss myself laughing to his face with his huffing and puffing.
I really liked the way Austin came off in this and also Bill. Not to sure on Booker he came across as a guy who only seemed to be there once every three weeks with little to say.
Andy might be big, he might look like a cross breed of Edge and Test, but he has about as much personality as a cat’s scratching post. Luke...they could definitely do more with.
I kind of think the smartest thing to do would build a program with Luke being disgruntal about losing and finding a way back into the WWE with something like they did with Alex Riley.
Completely agree with the Mighty Duck about the finish with Austin and McMahon served no purpose what so ever. I have a feeling this might go the way of Maven if people can remember that far back where he started out working with the trainers a bit on shows and then going from there and there was a small program with Undertaker I believe (somewhat equivalent today would work)
I really enjoyed it as a show, but I think the wrong guy won and Andy shouldn’t have got this far period...I mean even his promo on Tough Enough against Luke at the end saying ‘he has no business being in the ring with him’, he looked like a right twat saying that and looked like he couldn’t deliver a pizza let alone an insult.

Maybe what held Luke back was he used to work for an indy promotion that catered to a guy audience?  You know how WWE are about catering to a certain advertiser and most of them ain't no fans of them gays.  Most of the wrestlers in the promotion worked nude, he didn't, but had a pair of trunks Lady Ga-Ga would probably think twice about wearing in public.

Either that or he was too short.

Peace

From Figure Four Daily:

He beat Luke Robinson in the finals. Luke, 26, was a Northeast indy wrestler who had worked in a number of different promotions, including one, BG East, that produced videos directed at the gay male market (he never worked nude like some of the other guys, however he did wear some trunks that left little to the imagination).

Probably a gay version of that stuff Lacey Von Erich was doing where she was getting choked in a POV porn style in a 'wrestling match.'

Kise

I liked Luke, Jeremiah, Christina and Martin. Hell, even M-Dogg but he was cut on episode 2 or 3. As far as longevity goes, I believe Luke or Jeremiah had what it took to really grow with the company. I've seen some of Luke's indie matches and he's quite graceful. If the WWE wanted a face, they should have gone with Jeremiah. A heel? Go with Luke. Nothing at all draws me to Andy. I do hope they give some of the contestants future runs in the company, though I'm pretty sure Christina is/was in FCW.
